Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up is THIS Saturday, May 10
It’s that time again! White Rock Lake could use it’s monthly sprucing-up, and we heartily invite you to join the funnest-loving group of clean-up fanatics you’re likely to meet in a month of Saturdays. Join the enthusiastic effort put on by For the Love of the Lake at our May 10th Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up where we all get together for a morning of comradery and trash collecting. We’re all vivacious volunteers, working together to keep White Rock Lake beautiful for all of us to bike, walk, picnic and enjoy!
Newcomers are welcomed and all will meet between 8 and 9am at the FTLOTL office in Casa Linda Plaza , Buckner & Garland Road (facing Buckner). We’ll provide safety tips, information on collecting trash, and all the equipment you or your group will need to get started.
Before trekking out, everyone is treated to complimentary Starbucks coffee, goodies from Great Harvest Bread Co. and Clif Bar & Co., jams from Marsue’s Kitchen, delicious orange juice and rich chocolate milk from Schepps Dairy, and refreshing Rain Fresh bottled water. Supplies are provided, including trash bags (courtesy of Keep Texas Beautiful), recycling bags (courtesy of City of Dallas Recycling Department), and gloves (courtesy of Harlan W. Nevin, MD). Participate in two consecutive Spruce-Ups, and receive a Second Saturday T-Shirt (courtesy of Run On). And, of course, this weekend, cake for everyone!
It’s a worthwhile couple of hours spent as stewards for our great White Rock Lake and Park. Meet interesting folks, enjoy refreshments, sign-up, and get supplies at the office for a fulfilling time benefiting our city’s lovely Lake and Park. We hope to see you on Saturday, April 12th!
